The Day Before the Deadline

Today we were just trying to round up the editing since its the last day before the deadline. We imported the new clips that we filmed, and Dan regularly gave us some feedback. When he first saw our video that day, he said that the ending needed a bit of work, and that we used too much transitions and overlays. He also said that the clips towards the end were too long. We were receptive towards his advice, and changed the things he told us. The rest of the lesson was spent with him continually checking up on us, and us implementing his feedback.

Because we weren’t finished editing yet, Azeemah and Fatama stayed behind to do more, but I had to leave because I had to go work (I always have to be somewhere   -_-).

FEEDBACK

We got feedback from our teacher dan, so that we could know if we were ready to post it as our finished music video. he gave us some feedback and we are going to work on it and then we are FINALLY FINSHED!!!! WOOHOOOO

He said that we need to sync the first shot where she is singing, and we need to fix a shot where we cut here signing and go to a different location. he also said that we need to put an echo effect on the last shot to make it look like its coming to an ending. we took on board what he said and fixed it.

Me and Azeemah worked on the feedback that Dan gave us and we made it better. here are the changes that we made:

This is the shot at the beginning, i sat there for quit a while and thought of how i could make it flow better and how it could look better and i decoded to add a cross dissolve transition on it. it worked really well:

THIS IS THE LAST SHOT: WE PUT AN ECHO EFFECT ON IT SO IT  LOOKED LIKE IT IS TRAILING:

FEEDBACK

This is Sharmin and she just watched our music video; she said that there are not any points that we could improve on. she said that she liked our range of shots that we used to show our artist. she also said that she saw a good difference from the rough cut that we showed her.

This is Ben: he just watched our music video and he gave us some feedback. he said that he liked that we had different transitions and that it worked really well with the the music video. he said that he liked the effects that we put on some of our shots for example, the shot at the beginning with the echo of the kids. he said that the only improvement that we could make is that the lip syncing could be a bit more accurate. Other than that he liked our music video.

FEEDBACK

This is the feedback from Kudiwa, she said that our music video really took advantage of the wonderful location in london, she also said that our artist was very active with in the music video. the only negative that she found from it was that fact that on one of our shots we used a effect that was not used anywhere else so it looked a little random.

we took on board what Kudiwa said and changed that effect on the shot of the buildings, she was right it did look out of place. after we changed it we played it again and it did look better.

Editing Day 5 24th November ( Day before Final Deadline)............

Today we was editing trying to get a massive chunk done as it was the day before the deadline. We got most of it done however, we was stuck on the ending. Reason being is because when Fatama went filming at night, the night shots were not so good, so we were stuck on what to use.

The only bit we stick got to do is the ending, and then hopefully we can finishhhh :D ... And also just double check that everything is okay.

Gap Fimling

Today I met up with Renee and Fatama in Mile End to film the missing pieces for our music video. Azeemah couldn’t come because she was really sick and Siama wasn’t able to attend because she had to do something. Before I got there Fatama had being filming with Renee since about 3 while I was still in lesson. When I got to there it had started the turn dark so we started making our way to South Quay to filming the night shots.

When we got to the bridge we filmed one side of the bridge and started filming her singing base tracks on the other side of the bridge. During this process a security guard came up to us and informed us that we need a license to film there and that the presence of out light that we were using was a hazard to oncoming traffic, so we had to pack up and move to South Quay station.

When we got there the place under the bridge with the seat had been closed off J nothing was turning out right. But we worked it out. We just decided to have her standing up against the ledge, which actually looked really nice. So it was fine in the end.

Now we need to go back to college and edit in these clips, and hopefully we now have more than enough to work with.

Editing day 7

Today's lesson while editing we realised that we needed to go out and do more filming of base tracks in the night, and different night shots. We also needed to film some shot of her in the day doing nothing because all we had were the base tracks or her sitting there smiling, which wasn't really working out, and was starting to look really repetitive.

So since we couldn’t really do much until be received more footage, we spent this lesson adding in special effects, and really neatening up our editing.
