Editing day 4

This lesson I wasn’t editing. Instead, as it had been planned from the lesson before me and Siama went out to Angel to film more faces, while Fatama and Azeemah continued editing.

Chapel Market

Our first stop in Angel was in Chapel Market. We thought this would be a good place to film because it’s a crowd area – well as crowded as Angel gets. We decided to shoot against this graffiti wall because it looked interesting, but when we were setting up it started raining, and we had both forgotten our umbrellas, so we had to walked back to get them. When we got back to the spot, a crate type thingy had covered the graffiti, so we couldn’t film there anymore. L When then ended up filming outside the coffee shop. It was surprisingly hard. I know I shouldn’t have been shocked because I got out to film faces already but this was different. It was because there was a lot of old people in Chapel Market at that time, so when the heard us asking them to be in a music video, they were very sceptical and inquisitive. We mostly got no’s.  However we did get quite a few yes’s  - it was just a slow day.

We then decided to chance location. We looked for somewhere else in Chapel Market we could shoot, but it was either too empty, or too congested, and we’ll just be getting in people’s way. So we moved to N1 centre.

Angel, N1 Centre

     The first person we asked there said yes! They were quite enthusiastic about it also. We got a few more good responses- better than Chapel Market – until we were told be N1 security that we had to have permission to film there. -_- They offer to follow one of us to go and ask while they stay with the other and watch the camera, so Siama went to ask and I stayed. She came backs shortly and told it me it was negative – the manager wasn’t in so we weren’t able to get permission.  So we just packed up and headed back to college because lunchtime was soon approaching anyway.
