Filming Day 4

Last Train to Blackwall.

On Friday we went to Blackwall, near Fatama’s house, to do more filming.  I arrived there later than everybody else (around 14:00) because I had a doctor’s appointment. When I got there Renee was been filmed on the stairs doing some base tracks, then I just joined in with the help.

Today was a bit tough because we had an audience of about 8 children watching her perform and she got really shy, so the perform was a bit weak, and we had to keep doing lots of takes. Thankfully, they later temporarily went away so we were able to get some really good takes, and the lighting looked really nice because it was sunny. While filming Renee on the stairs we tried out lots of different angles and positions so we could have a variety in our music video.  When she was lips sinking we realized this was better than when she actually sang along, because she month movements were more readable, so we told her to do that instead from then on. Another thing we asked her to do was to hold the character at the end of the take so that we have excess footage to work with when to lyrics stop but the music keeps playing, because what she was doing was jumping out of character as soon as the lyrics stopped.

After filming on the stairs we moved to a grass area to try and film, but unfortunately we were told to move off the grass by a security guard L and that was a really nice shot.

Then we moved to the river side to do some scenery shots. On our way there, Renee accidently deleted the recording off her phone and she didn’t really know all of the lyrics, so for the rest of the day she was trying the lip sinking to no music, and Fatama was helping her with the words by looking the lyrics on her phone and singing along. (My phone can’t do stuff like that its not a smart phone). 

 

Later we moved onto a stair steps that had water cascading on each side, and we filming Renee on the steps. It looked really pretty and we were able to get some good angles and shots.

 

Waiting for it to get dark, we went ASDA to buy lunch, and then went to eat at Fatama’s house.

When it got dark, we made our way down to South Quay.

We filming base tracks of Renee singing by a river side (which was REALLY nicely lit), then shot her with these sort of glowing poles the were coming out of the ground.

We finished around 19:00 and that was it for the day!
