PLANNING

short list of fonts, colours, layout and design

As a group we decided These are the colours that we are gonna try and use for our Digipak:

Colour scheme = neutral light colours. sepia/gold with light blue

Font style: we have opted for ONE MAIN font;' American typewriter' and a back up font in case we wanted to use two fonts; 'Trajan pro'.

And the decisions that we had to make on our own were:
    • Number of panels- I have decided to do a 2 panel Digipack
    • Content of each panel- The front panel is going to contain just the album name and artist name with a picture of artist. The back panel is going to contain the; track list, background design, barcode, logo, record label, copyright and website. the inside panel is going to contain a picture of artist and the CD housing is going to contain a slot for the CD.
Choice of image on each panel- I have decided to put a main image of my artist with her surrounded by leaves as you can see from my mock-up. Originally on the back cover i wanted a picture of my artist surrounded by nature and the track listing on one side however Rebecca has informed me that it is not normally conventional of a Digipak to have a picture of the artist on the back, there i am trying to figure out how i can make my back panel flow with the front. The inside panel was going to be a picture of my artist with a guitar however due to the limited amount of time that we had i could not get that shot there for i am going to substitute it with one of the other pictures that i had taken that day. the CD housing panel of my Digipak is going to be full with faces as a mosaic; this is to link it back with the main single that we made a music video to.

The decisions that we had to make on our own for our advertisement were:
    • Choice of image- i was going to put a picture of my artist sitting with a guitar- like in my mock-up, however i may not be able to take the picture so i may have to change the picture to something else.
    • Positioning of items on the poster- The name of my artist was going to be on the right left hand side and it is going to be large, and under the artist name is going to be the album name but positioned in the middle instead of the left or right. the top right hand part of my advert is going to have a star rating from a music magazine, and i am going to have tour dates going down the right hand side of my advert. And the picture of my Digipak is going to be on the bottom right corner.
    • My additional things on my poster are; Star Ratings and Tour Dates.
