My Album Genre: Alternative rock, folk, blues, country blues

The strengths about this advertisement is that the masthead is written in the the boldest font making it stand out, it also frames the image below. it is in a different font to the rest of the advert- this may be because this specific font is the official font for the band 'Florence And The Machine'. The image is at the centre of the advert, this has been done to attract more attention to the artist; the main image is what promotes the artist and their identification along with their album. The picture fits perfectly for the scale, it has not be stretched or manipulated. The picture also connotes that it is linking with the album name; as you can see she is wearing a pair of lungs on her chest which links with the album name- 'Lungs'.
She has followed the convention of not using bright colours which attract attention away from the artist; the back ground is subtle with blues and greens allowing the white writing to stand out clearly. The focus is immediately drawn to the album name 'lungs' this informs the consumer that they are promoting this specific album. Even though she has decided to use a curly font she has not broken the convention of using maximum 2 fonts and for it to be clear. She has added more information at the bottom so that the reader can find out about what is included in the Digipak.

The strengths about this advert is that the blue background is very nice cool blue, representing the sky; this is a really nice back ground because it isn't really bright and it doesn't attract attention away from the main image. The background is a good base to put writing on because it will stand out especially like they have done on this advert by using white writing. The main picture on the advert is an unrealistic house and garden; this picture and design links with the title of the album 'Made Of Bricks'. The title of the album and artist name appear together and seem to have a had written effect, this will grab the attention of the audience. Also the white font looks very clear and bold on the blue background which will make it stand out. The album name follows the convention because it is of a smaller font compared to the artist name. You can tell this is not her debut album because one of the conventions of a debut album would be to have a clear picture of the artist at the front so that people can familiarise the artist face; however saying this if you look at all of Kate Nash's art work is very abstract and unrealistic, she doesn't really use full on images of just her. They are mostly animated, drawn or collage pieces; This tells us that she doesn't really follow the genre conventions. This album advert gives us information of when her album is going to be out and it gives us a quote of an opinion of her album, which is very conventional of this genre.
This is the advertisement for Amy MacDonald, with her album 'This Is The Life':
This is the type of advert we are going to be creating; a picture on the advert with a picture of our digipak on it. However this is not a proper magazine advert selling the Digipak and the artist. It doesn't follow the typical conventional of an advertisement for example; no artist name, no album name, it does not have information about tour dates or quotes etc. however it does have a picture of her which is promoting her and she has a picture of the album which is obviously promoting her album. It was very difficult to find an advertisement on this artist, but i managed to find this in the end. She has made the writing at the top very big, bold and eye catching so that the reader can automatically read it. she has stayed with two colours; red and white and they compliment each other very well and work well together.
