The main artist I was inspired by was Kate Nash. This is because her album covers are all art, cartoon like. It looks like they've been drawn and painted or made on the computer.
I want mine to look slightly cartoon like because I want to be a fun, bright, colourful cover that stands out on a shelf. I like the colours that she has used in the album on the far left. The main colours are blue, yellow, red, green and white, but she has used different shades of each and they work really well together. The one in the middle I like because the collage is simple and is in the centre of the album. Again the colours are red, blue, black and a cream kind of background. The one of the right I like alot because it was drawn by someone and then made into an album cover. I like that it's black and white with only a small amount of colour. I really like the cartoon as well.
This is a single cover for an American band. It doesn't really relate to my genre but this inspired my cartoon idea as well. This is obviously a collage with cut outs and a photoshopped background but i really like it. The colour scheme is blue, green, black and white. Its a mix of real photographs and cartoon pictures which I think works really well. My cover will be similar in the way that it will be a mix of cartoon and real photographs. I plan to have a photograph of my artist sitting on stairs and then there will be a cloud background which will be a photograph but slightly cartoonised. :)
