Obviously when we make our music video we won't be able to get famous people in them, but we can use the ideas and themes in the video as inspiration.

Research: Best example of a music video
There are so many music videos out there so I'm going to pick a recent one that I think is really good. Its by Katy Perry - Last Friday Night. Its an illustration video, meaning that it tells the viewer a story that matches the lyrics. This video has 110,507,037 views at this moment in time, which even though it isn't as popular as Justin Beiber or Lady Gaga, that still kind of alot.
I think this video is a good example because alot of people didn't know about this song until the video came out (myself included). The video itself is bright and colourful, filled with lots of neon. Its a pop/dance track and you would obviously realise that the video (and possibly song) is aimed at teenagers who are in high school (aged 15-18). The mise-en-scene is mainly the house where the party is being held. Special effects that are used are the 'daydreaming' cuts and the use of slow motion when Katy Perry is walking down the stairs after getting changed. I like this video because there are plenty of cuts made 'on beat' and show the entire party. There aren't lots of costume changes either (just two) and I like how the video cuts between her telling the story the morning after and memories of the party. There are some famous(ish) people in this video as well. Rebecca Black (the autotuned girl who sang that annoying song friday and it went viral) Darren Criss and Kevin McHale (from Glee).
Obviously when we make our music video we won't be able to get famous people in them, but we can use the ideas and themes in the video as inspiration.
