Technical skills developed during the AS course

During AS I gained skills through use of hardware and software such as:
  •       Final Cut Pro – From this learned a variety of skills within editing. I learned the importance of continuity in editing, and also had to does this effectively, I learned how and when to use different types of transitions to create different effects – I didn’t just use cut transition. Special effects such as slow/fast motion, reverse shots and overlapping shots where amongst the many things I learned.
  •       Soundtrack Pro - Soundtrack pro taught me how to create a soundtrack by putting together different sounds/beats and I also let me add sound effects to add to my film
  •       Live Type – This allowed me to add titles and I learned to that appropriate fonts and styles added effect to the film.
  •       JVC Camera – While using this film I learned how and when to use different types of camera shots, e.g. close-up long shots, over the shoulder shots etc. Also camera movements e.g. tilting, panning, tracking.
  •       Still digital camera – Allow me to document and provide evidence of my work J
  •       Handbrake – I learned for this how to convert my film and change the format so it can be played on different types of software.
