When we were told we should incorporate a visual motif, we starting thinking of ideas that can relate to our video but also be interesting and unique. We all decided on having a visual motif of glasses, because it draws on the seeing aspect of the song. The glasses not reading glasses but not funky ones either, instead they were those common glasses (worn for fashion) and have no prescription in them (the ones in the pictures). We were planning to have close –ups of LOTs of different people wear the glasses and sing the song, and we would cut all the clips together in a sequence.
However, today in glass Dan gave us a better idea. He suggested that instead of using glasses we do an extreme close up of people’s eyes. This was because the glasses gave a connotation of not being able to see, which contradicted with you were trying to illustrate. We liked this idea better and decided to roll with it. I look forward to shooting it and see how creative and exciting we can make it.
