This, I thought would be a good revenue to look into, because any artist would want there music video to become viral, therefore boosting their success as an artist. So what is it that makes a video viral?
Lets look at some videos that went viral and analyse it to try find out what makes a video viral.
This video Here it goes again by OK Go went viral because, because its interesting, exciting, fun and very different. It stood out from other current video bring something fresh and new. It’s very engaging and significant this captures and audience draws them in. This video lead the band of the song that in it, to become successful. That why a good video is vital in promoting an artist.
A more recent video that went viral is Rebekah Black - Friday
This went video viral for the wrong reasons, but nevertheless it went viral. It was number one on Twitter as a ‘Trending Topic’ for just over a week straight. Trending topic is the most commonly tweeted topics across twitter. This also helped the video become more viral. It went viral because it was funny. People saw it as a parody to a music video. They religious tuned in the watch the video to catch a laugh, get involved and aware of the commotion, and see why it was causing such as controversy. The success of the video going viral lead to the success of her career as an artist, as she was then was signed by a label.
When doing my own music I should try to think of incorporating things that will make it stand out and be different from the rest, giving potential to become viral, thereby achieving the ultimate goal of successfully promoting and establishing the artist.
